Because we are teamed up with the wrong thing or the wrong people. Do you think that maybe, just maybe, that the reason we can't get where we need to go might be because we are going in the wrong direction, listening to the wrong people, doing the wrong things? Perhaps that is why Jesus is saying, "take my yoke upon you and learn of me."

But wait a minute, what's a yoke? It sounds painful. When I was growing up, a yoke was something we used on our cows to keep them from going where they shouldn't go. But if that is what Jesus meant then He would be asking us to give up our choice, our free will. Because of this we know that isn't what He meant. What we have to know about the yoke Jesus is talking about makes all the difference in the world. The yoke Jesus is inviting us to take on is adjustable. Simply put...when we have pulled all the weight our ability will allow the rest of the load then shifts to Jesus and He carries that weight for us.

"Learn of Me!" Welcome to the University of Life. Most of us spend most of life going through the "School of Hard Knocks" We earn our Masters there. Jesus is saying, when you allow me to come into your life and be your lifelong partner you will graduate with less pain, sorrow, and heartache.

Oh, that we might learn more of Him

"Learn of me." Wow! What a statement. Jesus is saying to us that it is possible to learn how He would deal with things in our everyday life if we would be yoked up with Him. Maybe, then the reason we don"t know how to deal with things that come our way so many times might be
